Of note was the recent donation to the Tsholotsho flood victims, where Edgars came in with blankets to assist the families that were left homeless after this natural disaster struck. At the same time, Edgars also donated blankets to the Abatwa- San People, a gesture that was welcomed with the impending cold weather.
Mpilo Hospital was also a beneficiary through the CSR program with bin donations towards internal wards and external refuse bins to assist in keeping the hospital environment clean. We are proud to add onto our list of CSR programs the Edgars Education Bursaries, which have started off this year with a promotion themed Look cool for School. Through this promotion held over the Festive Holidays in both Edgars and Jet stores, 16 children won bursaries aged between 6 to 18 year olds.
We have included some of the winning essays on Page 90 as well as winning pictures from the children who entered the coloring competition. Through this project, a total of $12,000 has been paid out towards school fees. It is exciting to see children from different parts of the country and all walks of life coming out of their shells and sharing their imagination as they compete to win. We hope to continue touching and changing the lives of many Zimbabweans through running such programs.
